O torcedor do Santos tem boas notícias às vésperas do clássico com o São Paulo. Desfalque na vitória sobre o Fluminense por servir à Seleção Brasileira, o meia Lucas Lima está de volta e foi relacionado para o San-São desta quinta, no Pacaembu.

O camisa 10 desembarcou na manhã desta quarta no Brasil após ficar no banco de reservas na vitória sobre a Venezuela na última terça. Depois de consulta no dentista, o meia se reapresentou no CT Rei Pelé e ficou na academia.

Mesmo sem ter participado do último treino tático com o restante do elenco, Lucas Lima foi relacionado e deve ser inclusive titular diante do São Paulo.

Outra novidade é o argentino Fábian Noguera. Autor do gol de empate no amistoso com o Benfica, na Vila Belmiro, o zagueiro foi relacionado pelo técnico Dorival Júnior pela primeira vez em uma partida oficial. O mesmo vale para o quarto goleiro João Paulo, que ganha chance no banco graças à lesão de Vladimir.

In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Carlton Palmer has suggested that Keiren Westwood is having a negative influence in the dressing room at Hillsborough.

Westwood, who joined Wednesday back in 2014, has been a good servant for the club. Since arriving after his release from Sunderland, he has gone on to make close to 200 appearances for the Owls.

However, the 36-year-old goalkeeper’s contract expires at the end of the season, meaning his time at Wednesday could be coming to an end.

For Palmer, though, it may not necessarily be a bad thing, with the retired England international telling FFC he has not always received positive reviews about the player from those at the club.

“From what I’ve heard previously, and especially under the managers that I know that have managed there like Garry Monk, I don’t hear good things about Keiren in the dressing room, I really don’t,” Palmer revealed.

“He might be one of those that, you know, you need to move on. If you’re going to have a successful football club, you’ve got to have a good team spirit. You’ve got to have everybody singing from the same hymn sheet.”

Going into more detail, the ex-Wednesday player added:

“If somebody is unhappy about a little thing, it now becomes a big thing because somebody’s unhappy about something for them and spreads it and then he talks and then that goes into the dressing room. And I believe too much of that’s happened at Sheffield Wednesday.

“And I think Keiren’s been a big part of what’s gone on there, that’s what I’ve heard. So I wouldn’t be rushing to tie him down at this moment in time.”

Next up for Westwood and Wednesday is a tough clash against 2nd-placed Watford when the Championship returns.

A number of Liverpool fans have been reacting positively to the news that Roberto Firmino is back in training after injury.

The Reds will be approaching almost three weeks without a game by the time they visit Arsenal on Saturday night as they make a welcome return to action.

It may not have been the season that Jurgen Klopp and his players envisaged back in the summer, but there is still plenty to fight for, with a top four finish and Champions League glory not out of the question.

Liverpool’s struggles in 2020/21 have been mainly down to injuries, with an endless list of players absent at different times and centre-back trio Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all out until the summer.

The Reds’ woes have been easing slightly in recent weeks, however, and they have now been given a further boost.

Firmino was back in training on Monday after missing the last three matches with a knee problem, putting him in contention to start against Arsenal.

In an exclusive interview with Football FanCast, Rob Lee, who made 280 Premier League appearances, believes Anthony Martial has a problem with himself if he can’t get motivated to play for Manchester United.

It has been reported by EuroSport that Man United are ready to sell Martial, who reportedly earns £250,000-a-week, as they eye up a squad reshuffle ready to challenge Manchester City next season.

Since he arrived as the most expensive teenager in history, Martial has featured 258 times for Manchester United, scoring 78 goals and registering 49 assists in that time, however Lee believes Martial may have an attitude problem as he never seems bothered when playing.

Speaking on Martial’s future at Man United and why the Red Devils should look to cash in on the 25-year old, Lee told FFC exclusively:

“Martial has just been an enigma. He’s got all the talent in the world but he just looks like he can’t be bothered.

“If he can’t be bothered playing for Man United, then I think you’ve got something wrong with you.”

It’s been a difficult season for Martial who has found himself playing all across the front line with very limited success in each position.

The French international has found the net just seven times in 36 games and has only scored four goals in the Premier League this campaign.

Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer heaped praise on Jesse Lingard for the level of influence he has had at West Ham since joining the club.

The 28-year-old arrived at the London Stadium from Manchester United on loan during the January transfer window and has not disappointed.

Lingard has managed to score four goals and provide one assist in just six appearances. One of those goals came against London rivals Tottenham in a 2-1 win, while his sole assist was conjured up versus Manchester City, showing the high level that he has been playing at.

For Palmer, it is no surprise that Lingard has been performing in the manner that he has been, with the retired England international convinced that he is a good player overall.

In an exclusive interview with FFC, Palmer said:

“I think Jesse’s a good player and I think he is suited to West Ham’s style of play. I think the balance of the Man Utd side, the way it was, didn’t suit Jesse in the end. I mean, you know, Jesse was playing for his country and he was playing very, very well. I think he’s a talented player. 

“I think going to West Ham, he’s a big fish there. At Man Utd, he’s a small fish in a big pond, whereas at West Ham, they’ll have been delighted that he went there. He’s given the whole place a lift and he can play, he can definitely play and in the position he’s playing, which is his favourite position, it can cause a lot of problems and he’s scored a lot of goals.”

If £75,000-a-week man Lingard maintains this current level of form, you would expect West Ham to try and make his loan deal a permanent one.

Alongside the likes of Michail Antonio and Pablo Fornals, Lingard has helped the Hammers to form an attack that is currently aiding a push for Champions League football.

Write off this Leeds team at your peril. If there was one message to take away from their win over Leicester on Sunday, it was that.

Last term, it was the threat of burnout that they had to eradicate and after three defeats to start 2021, alarm bells were being rung over their capabilities in the Premier League.

However, they put all of those concerns to bed with a ruthless and clinical display at the King Power Stadium.

When Harvey Barnes fired Leicester in front it looked as though it would be another difficult afternoon for the visitors. Though, when Stuart Dallas raced onto a lovely ball in behind from Patrick Bamford, positivity was injected into their performance.

Of course, Leeds still play lung-busting football even when they’re losing, but today was all about three points and a win that cemented why Marcelo Bielsa’s style of football is so desirable.

Bamford found the net himself with a sumptuous strike and then with a piece of selfless play, set up Jack Harrison for Leeds’ third strike.

Though, for all the intent going forward, it was a defender who dominated proceedings for Bielsa’s team. That happened to be Luke Ayling, a man whose performance was summed up by a knock to the head that required bandaging.

Ayling has had to play at centre-back on a number of occasions lately because of injuries to Leeds’ backline but he showed just how important he is when playing on the right on Sunday.

He was fabulous going forward but incredibly adept defensively, largely keeping Barnes out of the game. The winger was able to drift into a central area for his goal when he attacked down Leicester’s left, he was met by a wall in Ayling.

Barnes was unsuccessful with all three of the dribbles he attempted and prevailed in just three of his nine ground duels. That was due to Leeds’ rampaging right-back who was nothing short of exceptional.

The former Yeovil man won a mouth-watering 11 ground duels, winning a grand total of seven tackles throughout the encounter. He was able to stop Leicester’s tricky winger on several occasions, something that set the tone for Leeds’ improved performance.

Going forward, Ayling offered plenty. He started the counter-attack for their opening strike, laying the ball into Bamford who was then able to turn. The full-back had a shot of his own that was blocked while he was fouled on three occasions, using his body wisely to earn dead-ball situations for his team.

As far as performances go, this was a complete one from the 29-year-old. Ayling was an irremovable object on the right-hand side.

There could be as many as three changes this afternoon.

Sam Johnstone is a shoo-in to remain between the sticks as the Baggies’ first-choice goalkeeper whilst Bilic is likely to stick with the back three of Kyle Bartley, Branislav Ivanovic and Semi Ajayi.

However, he’s forced into at least one switch at left wing-back after Conor Townsend was ruled out with injury for the rest of the month and with Kieran Gibbs only fresh off dealing with an injury of his own as well as coronavirus, we could see young academy sensation Dara O’Shea take up a place as his replacement.

Darnell Furlong should be good to go on the other flank.

There is also a return for £10m captain Jake Livermore, who was another player that tested positive for the virus. He’s an integral part of Bilic’s squad and will surely be handed the reigns over Romaine Sawyers despite the 29-year-old filling in astutely.

His colossal presence in the middle will allow Chelsea loanee Conor Gallagher and Matheus Pereira freedom to roam further up the pitch, where the Albion manager could make a surprising final change.

Callum Robinson keeps his place as West Brom’s top goalscorer, but we could see summer signing Karlan Grant dropped to the bench after a string of underwhelming performances.

The 23-year-old, signed from Huddersfield Town for a total of £16m, has scored just once in six appearances and has recorded below 6.15 in four of those matches, as per WhoScored.

Hal Robson-Kanu could be the man to start instead.

It means Grady Diangana will have to once again settle for a place on the bench, alongside the likes of Rekeem Harper, Kyle Edwards, Kamil Grosicki and Cedric Kipre.
